Dear colleagues,
This November the Lithuanian Press Photographers Club will hold already the fifth press photographers’ festival “Vilnius Photo Circle”.
This year’s festival exhibitions will be composed from festival’s competition “The Circle of Life” and the program for young photographers “Home work”.
At the end of November the “Photographers weekend” will be held in Vilnius, during which some lectures and tutorials will be delivered and the winners of this festival will be awarded.
Competition “The Circle of Life” is dedicated to social theme – photo stories about our everyday life. Photo story must consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 20 pictures. The deadline for this competition is October 3rd, 2011.
Best 12 photo stories, selected by the international jury, will be exhibited during this festival and published in journal “Photo Circle”.
Our main sponsor “Nikon” has established the first prize for this competition. The winner will get Nikon D3s, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, Nikon SB-900
The program for the young photographers is educational and is held since the very beginning of this festival in 2007.
Task for the “Home work” program is prepared by Espen Rasmussen, our colleague from Norway . This program is intended for the photographers under 35. The top 5 works of this task (selected by Espen Rasmussen) will be exhibited during this festival and published in journal “Photo Circle”. The deadline for this competition is October 3rd, 2011.
Photographs will have to be uploaded via a special system. Detailed information about uploading terms will be available on our website from September 5th, 2011.
Those photographers whose pictures will be exhibited during the festival and published in journal “Photo Circle” will get a free two night stay in Vilnius during the “Photographers weekend”. For the winners of competition “The Circle of Life” and program “Home work” (at least one person from each) organisers will buy a ticket for the trip to Vilnius.
The organizers of this festival keep the right to exhibit additional works, selected by the festival’s board from the pictures that were not selected either by the international jury or by the tutor of the youth program. The organizers of this festival exhibit selected pictures and publish them in journal “Photo Circle” as well as in a set of postcards promoting the festival without paying any fees for their authors. Uploading the pictures for the contests of the festival means the author agreement with these conditions. For all authors whose pictures will be selected for this festival a set of postcards and the journal will be given or sent for free.
Looking forward to seeing your pictures in festival “Vilnius Photo Circle” and wishing you a creative summer and autumn!
In the name of the international festival “Vilnius Photo Circle” and the Lithuanian Press Photographers Club,
Jonas Staselis
President of Lithuanian Press Photographers Club.
