A friend with two paws
A two-legged male dog named Loyd with volunteer Masha (32) on the walk. Three days have now passed after the surgery during which its fractured legs and the tail were removed. No one knows how the red dog named Loyd damaged two legs: one at the front and one at the back. Maybe he was hit by a train. Somebody noticed Loyd on the outskirts of Minsk (Belarus) and reported him to an animal protection organisation. He was licking the wounds with the bones sticking out. During a difficult four-hour operation the remains of broken legs and the tail were removed. Volunteers found a video on the Internet with similar cases where dogs normally walked on two legs. It gave strength and confidence
The first few days were the most difficult: the legs that underwent surgery ached, Loyd had a high temperature. On the third day after the surgery the dog asked for the first time to be taken to the street.
The new temporary owners of the dog have become Olya (34) and Igor (48). Igor is taking tired Loyd home after the morning walk. The first month after the surgery the animal quickly ended in force. When Loyd got tired he sat down and waited to be taken in the arms. In the morning and in the evening before the walk Olya bandaged and disinfected the wounds.
The search for new owners on the Internet continued. Gaining strength with each passing day, the two-legged Loyd is becoming more self-sustained. Loyd is taken to the vet. That is how Olya met the dog. Olya works in the travel agency, and in her spare time helps animal protectors transport the animals.
Grooming Loyd, Olya and Igor got so attached to him that they decided to keep him at home. Loyd is their second dog and he quickly made friends with the Chinese crested dog Marley. Now Loyd leads a full life, it’s just a little less easy for him to keep the balance.
