A PHOTOGRAPHERS’ WEEKEND, 2017
The Lithuanian Press Photographers Club is pleased to present the 11th International Festival of Photojournalism VILNIUS PHOTO CIRCLE.
A PHOTOGRAPHERS’ WEEKEND will be held in Vilnius on December 8-9, 2017, during which lectures, tutorials and a conference will be delivered and the Festival prizes provided by main sponsor FUJIFILM will be awarded.
The creators of the best ten ‘Circle of Life’ contest stories will be exhibited during the Festival and published in the Photo Circle journal and are (in alphabetical order): Younes Mohammad Abdolrahman, Abir Abdullah, Maxim Dondyuk, Tadas Kazakevičius, Heba Khamis, Anna Miroshnichenko, Fausto Podavini, Younes Khani Someeh Soflaei, Vlad Sokhin, Sadegh Souri.
The creators of two stories choosed by Festivals’ organisres will be exhibited during the Festival and published in the Photo Circle journal and are (in alphabetical order): Oscar B Castillo, Hannes Jung.
The creators of the best three stories of the ‘Homework’ contest (for young photographers), which will be exhibited during the Festival and published in the Photo Circle journal are (in alphabetical order): Anastasia Evsinekina, Danil Usmanov, Yarin del Vecchio.

Abstract: With trillions - yes, trillions - of images being made every year, and billions - yes, billions - of them being shared on social networks, it seems like people the world over are drowning in a flood of pictures of their own making. But is this an accurate account of our global visual economy? What does all this mean for ethics and how professional image makers and storytellers operate? And what impact does all this have on the photography of news?
